MicroLecture Education and Training
I'm Professor Bill Moylan. I have utilized "hybrid classrooms" since 2012, when I "flipped" my Introduction to Business course at Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii. In March 2020, when Eastern Connecticut State University had to close our beautiful campus after spring break, I was able to quickly pivot my four classes to REMOTE instruction. In June 2020, I created an online seminar full of tips and suggestions for any college educator trying to figure out how to make the best of our current unprecedented teaching environment, and put it on this site. Now, I have taken my capstone seminar for college seniors,"Professor Moylan's Workplace Essentials: What They OUGHT to Teach You in College," and made it available for organizational use. If you would like to know how to make this available for your employees, please watch the first video, or email me at: bill@pivottoonline.com.
"Excel in an Hour!"
All modules can be customized. For example, there are more than 50 Excel MicroLectures, totaling more than 8 hours of training. I can condense this down to less than one hour, showing students all of the capabilities of Excel. They can simply use the checklist, noting which features might be most important to them. Then they can watch the short MicroLectures for those features, as many times as it takes to master!
The Excel program can even be a great lunchtime "brown bagger," where students can see what Excel is capable of, and receive a QR code card to give them instant clickable access to the short MicroLectures they want to see to best learn the features they think they'd use.
